Dr. Zahid Butt to Speak at HIMSS 2015 Quality Symposium

Columbia, MD, March 23, 2015 – Zahid Butt, MD, FACG, Chief Executive Officer of Medisolv, Inc. and Chair HIMSS Performance Measurement Task Force, will be a featured panelist at a pre-conference symposium “Balancing Quality Reporting and Outcomes Improvement,” during the 2015 HIMSS  Annual Conference & Exhibition in Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Butt will be one of three speakers during the “Measure Development, Specifications and Implementation” session of the Quality Symposium. Along with Michael Zaroukian, MD, PhD, and Sharon Giarrizzo-Wilson, MS, RN-BC, CNOR, Dr. Butt will discuss the electronic clinical quality measurement implementation process, including the incorporation of the measure specifications (review of new specifications, analysis of data sources, programming, testing, and certification), along with the process for customer implementation.

In addition to describing their role in defining and supporting standards improvements such as HQMF and QRDA I vs. III, the speakers during this session will discuss the importance of establishing and maintaining a partnership between implementers, providers, measure developers, and other key stakeholders to ensure the development and implementation of feasible eMeasures that support provider-friendly functionality.

The “Measure Development, Specifications and Implementation” session will begin at 12:45 p.m. CST on Sunday, April 12th, 2015, in room W194 of the McCormick Place
convention center.

Dr. Butt is a nationally recognized expert in EHR based quality measurement. He is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. His areas of expertise include healthcare data analytics for performance and clinical quality improvement.
