Medisolv Meets Criteria for ORYX® Initiative

Columbia, MD, January 7, 2010 - Medisolv, the market leader in Business Intelligence, Decision Support and Quality Reporting Solutions for hospitals and healthcare systems, reached a major milestone this week as its newest product ENCOR met the criteria for inclusion in the accreditation process and has been included on The Joint Commission’s list of acceptable systems as part of its ORYX® initiative.

ENCOR provides Core Measure case identification, abstraction and submission software and services for submission to both the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and The Joint Commission as part of ongoing efforts to monitor quality and patient safety standards compliance in US hospitals. Medisolv is committed to meeting future criteria established by CMS and The Joint Commission. The following measures have been accepted by The Joint Commission for accreditation purposes:

AMI Measure Set Inpatient
CHF Measure Set Inpatient
Pneumonia Measure Set Inpatient
SCIP Measure Set Inpatient
Pregnancy Measure Set Inpatient
Childhood Asthma Measure Set Inpatient
AMI Measure Set Outpatient
Chest Pain Measure Set Outpatient
Hospital Outpatient Surgery Outpatient
Imaging Efficiency Measures Outpatient

“We are excited to launch this new solution as a strategic expansion of our product line.” says Dr. Zahid Butt, Medisolv’s CEO. “MEDITECH empowered hospitals will find unparalleled integration and greater efficiencies as major benefits for their quality reporting and compliance with the new HITECH regulation. ENCOR automatically identifies Core Measure reporting cases as soon as they are coded, enabling hospitals to identify Core Measures related patient safety and quality of care issues much earlier in the process. Core Measures data from ENCOR automatically populates IndiGo, another Medisolv product, automating Core Measure indicators for tracking in scorecards and dashboards. Hospital staff can set goals and monitor their performance as part of their ongoing patient safety and quality improvement efforts.”
