2021 MIPS Proposed Rule: Key Highlights

Written by Erin Heilman | Aug 14, 2020

CMS dropped the 2021 PFS proposed rule which contained changes to the MIPS program. Check out our slideshow featuring the highlights of what you should know.

What’s in store for MIPS 2021? Last week, CMS dropped the 2020 Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) proposed rule. The rule is pretty conservative for the MIPS program. In fact, CMS starts out by saying they recognize how difficult 2020 has been for clinicians (read: dumpster fire) so they are “limiting the number of significant changes to the Quality Payment Program in 2021.”

They did however propose a few changes of note. We put together a slideshow with highlights of the proposed MIPS changes. Keep in mind that these are just the proposed changes. The final rule will come out in late fall.

We've provided the links to the CMS proposed rule documents below.
