It was interesting to see which articles topped the ranking. We put these in reverse order with number one being our most popular blog in 2022. All of these articles have a lot of great, usable information to help you manage your quality reporting programs. Also interesting to note is that SDOH and Equity articles (#2 & #3) were published later this year but immediately climbed to the top of our yearly ranking.

10. How to Implement the Safe use of Opioids eCQM (CMS 506)
Why read this:In 2020CMS released the CMS 506: Safe use of Opioids - Concurrent Prescribing eCQM. This measure was available to submit as part of your 2021 Inpatient Quality Reporting (IQR) requirements and in 2022, your hospital was required to report your performance on this measure for three quarters of the year. It’s important you start tracking and improving this performance now since not only will this measure be required for submission, it will also be publicly reported.

Why read this: As of 2022, there is a new reporting requirement that requires you to attest to whether your organization performed a self-assessment of the SAFER guides. To successfully meet the requirement, you must attest to Yes or No. At this point, CMS is just tracking if organizations are using these.
