This week CMS released the full nationwide results of the second year of MIPS. Participation is at 98% and of the participants 98% met or exceeded the minimum score of 15 points. What they neglected to highlight was the maximum amount of reimbursement anyone across the country received was a 1.68% increase to their Medicare Part B reimbursement. Next year CMS is upping the minimum score requirements and plan to post your 2018 MIPS performance to Physician Compare. What’s in store for MIPS 2020? Earlier this week, CMS dropped the 2020 Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) proposed rule. The rule provides a pretty good snapshot of the future for MIPS over the next several years. They are evening out the category distribution and upping the threshold requirements. Also of note, they plan to post 2018 MIPS performance to Physician Compare. Keep in mind that these are just the proposed changes. The final rule will come out in late fall.Read More
